WHO SHAPED YOU

$26,000.00
Sold Out

“Who Shaped You” is composed of elongated, overlapping profiles that flow into one another vertically, each figure partially carved from the silhouette beside it. They do not stand shoulder to shoulder; they intersect. One contour becomes the negative space of another. Identity is formed at the edge where two forms meet.

Rendered in shifting earth and jewel tones — burgundy, slate blue, olive, ochre, deep charcoal — the figures feel distinct yet inseparable. Their boundaries are shared. No face is fully isolated; each is subtly altered by proximity.

The vertical rhythm of the composition suggests growth and evolution. The figures rise together, but each carries a slightly different tone — a quiet indication that influence does not erase individuality, it refines it. We remain ourselves, but not untouched.

The title, “Who Shaped You,” poses an intimate question. It points to the unseen exchanges that define us — the people who challenge, nurture, mirror, or redirect us. The painting suggests that identity is not formed in isolation. It is negotiated at the edges, in the space where one life meets another.

We are shaped not only by what we choose — but by who we allow close enough to leave an imprint.
